Brow lift and or forehead lift can be done both surgically or non-surgically using botox. In this procedure following changes occur. They are:-

  • Reduces the wrinkle lines that develop horizontally across the forehead, as well as those that occur on the bridge of the nose, between the eyes
  • Improves frown lines, the vertical creases that develop between the eyebrows

FAQ’S on Brow lift

What does brow lift mean? Describe the procedure?

Brow lift means lifting your brow to the desired level by an expert which is discussed during your initial consultation before the procedure commences. Brow lift can be done both surgically under local anaesthesia and non-surgically using botox and or filler.

Who is an ideal candidate for the procedure? How do I decide which procedure to choose?

The ideal client should be in good health, a non-smoker, and without any co-morbid conditions. If he is a diabetic or hypertensive or on any blood thinners please inform Dr Sukhbir immediately. The requirements and positioning for brow lift are different for both males and females and u can discuss with your surgeon all these details.

How long does the results of brow lift last?

Depending on the type of procedure u choose, the results lasting shall be different. If u choose surgical technique your results will last much longer than with any other method. Surgical results usually last for 5 years or even longer depending on how u age and care for your skin. Non-surgical methods using botox last for maximum upto 6 months and fillers upto 1 year or slightly more. Depending on your budget and requirements u can choose which procedure u like to undergo.

Describe the surgical and non-surgical procedures in slight detail?

Surgical Brow lift usually involves first giving local anaesthesia at the various incision sites. Usually two incisions are given on each side, one in the temporal hairline and one just above the eyebrow. After the desired plane is achieved sutures are used to fix the brow to the desired level. The incision sites are closed with very fine sutures which are removed in 5 days’ time. This process usually takes 1.5 hrs.

Non- Surgical Brow lift can be done using both Botox and fillers. Both these procedures usually take few minutes to perform and u can get back home immediately. Fillers show the result almost immediate. Botox effect usually takes 4-7 days to appear. A touch up session may be required at the end of 15 days to check or correct any discrepancy.

What are the adverse effects or risks of the above procedures?

Adverse events are rare. With the surgical technique of brow lift, one can have a temporary numbness or swelling which usually disappears in few days’ time. Another possible risk is mild hair loss around the incisions.This risk is minimized with good surgical technique, and can easily be treated after your surgery. Other risks include possible infection, mild bleeding, etc.

In the non-surgical technique one can experience mild swelling, bruising and soreness which usually disappears within 2-3 days.

Can Brow lift be combined with any other procedure or not?

Yes, u can combine various procedures along with brow lift like hair transplant, blepharoplasty and also during face lift procedure brow lift can usually be done. Please discuss with Dr Sukhbir all your requirements and accordingly u can go for the desired procedure.
